Arroyo Seco: An historic look at a 250 year old northern New Mexico village |
|
An historical look at Arroyo Seco; a 250 year old northern New Mexico Hispanic Village. The book is written by Jim Bull, a part time resident of this community.
When Jim, a history buff saw the restoration work being done on the local parish's 150 year old adobe church he decided to write this book and donate the proceeds to the restoration effort. There are five churches in the parish, with three of them dating back to the early 1800's. The book goes back in history to the time when the Spanish first settled in the area.
For anyone who is interested in the make up of northern New Mexico or how different this area of the country developed from that settled by the English, this book makes for some interesting reading.
Besides, your purchase
of this book goes toward restoring some great old adobe churches. |
