       Taos has a long and rich history of providing art to its neighbors and the world. This history first started with the Native Americans that occupied this region. They were both artists and traders. In the 1500's the Spanish introduced art styles from Europe. In the late 1800's two artists from the East Coast opened the eyes of the art world to the beauty of Taos. Today Taos is a very diversified community of artists, art dealers, and art collectors.
       The guide includes art galleries and the artists they represent, Taos artists, craftspeople, writers, and musicians.
       The guide also includes a listing of area restaurants.

The Taos Guide to the Arts has become a collectors item and is being sold here while the supply last.

The purpose of the guide ...is to provide as much information about our art market as possible to collectors, buyers, art dealers, and visitors to the Taos area.

...by showing that art in Taos ranges from fine art to folk art, including a wide range of performing artists, musicians, writers and other crafts people. Galleries, art and performance spaces, museums, well as art organizations and institutions.

…a secondary purpose is to provide networking for Taos artists and a resource for Taos merchants.
